Book Review - Taste Of Darkness by Maria V. Snyder

Taste Of Darkness is the third and final book in The Healer Series by Maria V Snyder. Avry knows hardship and trouble. She fought the plague and survived. She took on King Tohon and defeated him. But now her heart-mate, Kerrick, is missing, and Avry fears he's gone forever.

But there's a more immediate threat. The Skeleton King plots to claim the Fifteen Realms for his own. With armies in disarray and the dead not staying down, Avry's healing powers are needed now more than ever.Torn between love and loyalty, Avry must choose her path carefully. For the future of her world depends on her decision.

Although it isn't my favorite Maria V Snyder book, it is the most uniquely and interestingly written!

The thing that stands out the most to be is the way it is written. The previous book, Scent Of Magic, switched from Avry's to Kerrick's point of view every chapter whereas with this one it isnt so often. This works to Maria's advantage as it keeps us reading. I also love the fact the chapters arent always in chronological order and that you'll read a kerrick chapter and then when you start an avry chapter is may go back and tell you what was happening at the same time but from Avry's perspective. That is what kept me reading. I have never experienced that style of writing before and for me it was very refreshing and educational.

Enjoyed this book and the whole Healer series very much!
