Book Review - Touch Of Power by Maria V. Snyder

Touch Of Power is the first book in The Healer Series by Maria V SnyderLaying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan assumes their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Territories, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.

Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...

Maria V Snyder is my favorite author of all time! She write's such amazing stories with action, romance and fantasy all working together at an equal level to create in my opinion the best stories around. So when she released Touch Of Power 2 years ago I had no doubts whatsoever that this would a good read. And she didn't disappoint! I cant start a book series without having all the books first, especially if I know I'm going to love the books and finish them within a week as I would then have to wait a year for the next part and it would drive me CRAZY!!!!! So when I gave up with the last book in the Immortal Series (no offence to Alyson Noel or her writing I just found reading the Immortal Series a struggle) and with the last in The Healer Series being released in January I thought what better time to start reading Touch Of Power and the second book Scene Of Magic which I am currently reading. And I can tell you now I spend all day reading Touch Of Power and stayed up until 3 in the morning to get it finished as I was that engrossed in the story. Only a few other books have been that engrossing that they caused me to stay up until an ungodly hour just to finish them! But you know what they say, "the best books are the ones you stay up until 3 in the morning to finish".

I cant recommend this book enough! All I can say is if you love The Hunger Games series then you will love this!
